FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of identification is acceptable? A valid, government-issued photo ID is required, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.
What is a notarial act? A notarial act is when a notary verifies your identity and witnesses your signature or oath to help prevent fraud.
Who needs to be present for notarization? The person signing the document must be present and provide valid ID. If witnesses are required, they must also be present at the time of signing.
Will I need witnesses for my signing? Some documents require witnesses in addition to notarization. If witnesses are required, you will need to arrange for them to be present at the appointment. Please check your document before scheduling. If you are unsure whether witnesses are required, contact the document preparer, attorney, or issuing agency for guidance.
Why is there a travel fee? The travel fee covers time, mileage, and the convenience of meeting at a location that works for you.
Can you help with estate documents like wills or power of attorney? Yes. In addition to notarization, I can help coordinate the signing process to make sure everything is completed correctly and nothing gets missed. (Please note: I do not provide legal advice or draft documents.)
